La Paz, Bolivia reminds me very much of Kansas because of the challenging weather forecasts and rough storms. Of course it doesn't get as cold as Kansas does because Bolivia is much closer to the equator. They also have something we don't, hurricanes and flooding. They almost always have rain showers. In the month February the average rain is 4.1 inches which is a lot of rain. We have also noticed that they never have snow. It is very odd but then again they live closer to the equator than kansas let alone the US does. You also have to always expect rain. Its never dry. They have warm summers and some chilly winters but not as bad as we have it here in Kansas.
Recently there has not been much severe weather but flooding is always question. A recent flood that hit Bolivia was in 2007 but it made some serious damage. It wiped out 480,000 acres and 22,000 heads of cattle. They also had a flood last year which wasnt as big as the 2007 flood but still inflicted damage. Its very hard on Bolivia to bounce back since they are the poorest nation in South America. So even a small hurricane or flood can really put Bolivia in jeopardy.
